Alltek Services and SonicWALL hosted a Cybersecurity seminar on May 24th. Over 50 local professionals showed up to learn more about keeping their network, and their business, safe. We are proud to say that half of those attendees were current Alltek clients. We provide multiple layers of protection for each of our clients, but they understood their role in staying protected in their personal and professional lives.
Rob Krug, an ethical hacker and the Senior Solutions Architect for SonicWALL, delivered an engaging, hilarious, and at times scary presentation on the reality of today’s cyber threats. Phishing, spear phishing, waterhole attacks, ransomware, and social engineering are just a few of the many topics covered during this event.
The goal was to educate local businesses on the different types of attacks, but more importantly, how to prevent these attacks in the first place. Of course, having a rock-solid firewall with multi-layer protection is critical. However, it is also important to be weary of emails, terminated employees, flash drives, and websites. Each of these can carry a malicious gift that could lock down your entire network.
We work with SonicWALL because they provide the most comprehensive security on the planet. They have layer after layer of security to keep our clients protected. To illustrate the power of the SonicWALL, Rob even attempted to open a live “WannaCry” ransomware (the one that has been ripping up networks around the world). The SonicWALL took the file, detonated it in the cloud, and would not allow Rob to download it no matter how many times he tried. This is just one example of the power of a SonicWALL firewall.
We are so happy to see how engaged our clients and the community are regarding this topic. 90% of attendees stated that they would Highly Recommend a future event to a friend or colleague. If you were unable to attend, check out the full video of the event below.
