Over 50 local business owners were in attendance for the third annual TelAdvocate Partner Event, held at the beautiful Le Meridien in Tampa Bay, FL. Cologix, Windstream, Nextiva, Froniter Communications, Comcast, CenturyLink, and Brighthouse were among the amazing sponsors for this year’s event, which Alltek attended as a partner.
This year’s Keynote speaker was University of Virginia Head Coach Brian Boland. Brian has led the Cavaliers to three NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championships, first in 2013 and then consecutively in 2015 and 2016. Boland’s Virginia team held a 140 match winning streak against ACC opponents, which spanned from April 2006 to February 2016. This streak is the longest winning streak in any sport in ACC history.
His great successes made him more than qualified to speak to the crowd about leadership. He explained that he used to believe that being a good leader was about being the hardest worker possible. However, he’s come to realize that being the hardest worker only gets you so far. Truly inspiring and engaging the players is what led to his victories. He now works less than he has in the past, and is winning more games than at any other point in his career. Hard work is still important, but it’s the quality of the interactions you have with the people you are working alongside of that truly make the difference.
This is the kind of approach that businesses need to take to make the most of client relationships, and put forth the best quality of service possible. You also need to make sure that you’re working with the right people.
Alltek works with TelAdvocate to provide our clients with the best possible prices for phone, Internet and data. It’s been a mutually beneficial relationship not just for Alltek and TelAdvocate, but for our clients as well. We had the thrill of being recognized as one of the top 10 performers in the company, and received an award to mark that recognition. We are honored to work with such a great organization that always puts their customers first.
The night wasn’t just about speeches and awards, however. TelAdvocate gave out a ton of amazing prizes over the course of the evening, such as gift cards, Go Pros, Fitbits, and even a hover board and a drone! A pair of tournaments were held for free throws and putts, with an awesome Yeti cooler going to the winners. And best of all, the proceeds for these events – which TelAdvocate matched dollar for dollar – went straight to Suncoast Centers.
